I have just sold my share in a house I owned with my brother to his new wife. The mortgage company charged us a fee for chaning the names which she’s happy to share. We both used the same solicitor to complete the deal but now she says that I am the one liable for the fees as I was the one whoever chose the solicitor. Is this correct. After speaking to others on the web, I found the answer. If you appointed the Solicitor than you will be liable for the Fee. If you both mutually appoint them than you both equally responsible for Fee.
yep. as the seller you incur all fees
Yes, if you deal with a solicitor for anything there is always a fee to pay
